So, the Chicago Bears got to face their first consequential test of the short 2020 season and...man, it was a let down.
The Indianapolis Colts came into Soldier Field and dominated the Bears 19-11 Sunday afternoon. Don’t be fooled by the relative closeness of the score, because it wasn’t close at all. These Colts look like a legitimate playoff team and the most complete team the Bears have seen.
The so-called "monsters," on the other hand, could barely make anyone jump with the performance they put on, continuing a trend of head-scratching play overall.
And if every game can be considered a test, then the Bears failed so hard in this go around that they may need a report card signed by a parent. All three phases -- as well as coaching -- had a hand in this loss, which was a complete one. There were precious few points in this game where the Bears were in control at all, which is very disappointing in what some could call a statement game.
