3 and Out: Survival Name of Game Again In Bears Home Opener

The NFL’s best version of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, aka the Chicago Bears, survived another last play victory Sunday to punctuate another breathless effort that the team and its fans have to be quick to want to move on from, despite winning 17-13 over the New York Giants in the 2020 opener at Soldier Field.
It was eerily similar to last week, where a tale of two halves unfolded mostly. Sometimes the shifts in quality could be measured series by series. For all the good Chicago exhibited in a winning effort, there is equally as much bad that showed itself in the process, arguably more so. Yet despite the negativity, the Bears are now one of 10 NFL teams to start the year 2-0 after Sunday's action. Never, ever apologize for victories in the NFL, no matter how ugly they are.
It is always much easier to correct issues and problems when a team is winning rather than losing. All the Bears coaches should be working double-time in going over this week's film tape with the players. The Bears must improve if they are going to be taken legitimately come mid-season, or hopefully by seasons end.
But before we move forward towards Week 3 and a meeting with the Atlanta Falcons, lets take a second and look back at the three biggest takeaways from this week’s close, close victory for the hometown Bears.
